Discover the Larzac wool yoga mat

Our observation: 90% of wool produced in France each year is thrown away. We designed a wool yoga mat that is ethical, comfortable, non-slip and washable.

The characteristics of wool

Our Larzac wool yoga mats are designed to offer unparalleled comfort from natural wool.

Icône laine naturelle mérinos

Renewable & local

All “ethical” mats are made from rubber that comes from the other side of the world.

Icône matière naturelle et durable

Comfortable and natural

What a pleasure to practice on a natural, fragrant material. It gives a perfect grounding in the spirit of yoga.

Icône respirabilité naturelle de la laine

Thermoregulatory

In winter it keeps you warm. In summer it keeps you cool. Naturally — just like for sheep.

Icône facilité d'entretien du tapis

Self-cleaning

Like a wool sweater, just air out the mat from time to time. For dust, run a vacuum over it.

Icône confort et flexibilité

Elastic

Resistant to deformation, it is ideal for a mat that is rolled and unrolled at every session.

Icône propriétés antibactériennes de la laine

Hypoallergenic

A natural material, wool is known to cause very few allergic reactions.

Icône éco-responsable et naturel

Moisture-wicking

It absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture and then releases it naturally.

Icône éco-responsable et naturel

Odour-resistant

Thanks to its porous, breathable fibre structure, wool does not hold on to odours.

A French production

The wool comes from farms within the AOP Roquefort area. It is processed at the Filature Colbert mill in Camarès. The mats are then iron-stamped by the Boutique du Marquage in Toulouse. Finally, they are shipped and delivered directly to your home by Boost, a work-integration social enterprise based in Nîmes.

Pastoralism

Wool from the Larzac

Our wool comes from a mythical territory, the cradle of AOP Roquefort production. A demanding world of pastoralism. A deep territory, rich in ancient tradition and know-how.

A nod to our shepherds

We brand our mats with a hot iron — a reminder of a practice that has now disappeared from sheep farming. The memory of a story and its beautiful evolution.

Nathalie M.

“The mat is very comfortable for the joints, it doesn't slide on the floor and your hands don't slide on it. The smell is a bit present but it doesn't bother me.”
Geraldine N.
Mareuil-sur-Cher, Loir-et-Cher
“Very pleasant feeling when in contact with wool on bare hands and feet. Very pleasant are also the postures such as a child's posture where you put your forehead or part of your face on the mat, a natural feeling that is very very pleasant compared to synthetic mats.”

FAQs

Find answers to frequently asked questions about our wool yoga mat.

Why is 90% of French wool thrown away every year?

According to a 2023 report by the CGAAER (the French ministerial council on food and agriculture), French wool faces twin pressure from synthetic materials and low-cost countries. The French wool sector must therefore rebuild itself, and new outlets must be found to give it value. That is the starting point of our business!

Is the Wool Mat suitable for gentle yoga and dynamic yoga?

We designed the mat with a layer of latex so it is non-slip on both sides. It grips the floor. On the practice side, it gives you a solid anchor to flow through your postures safely. The wool brings a cocooning feel, and its scent helps you switch off.

What is the difference between a PVC yoga mat, a natural rubber mat and our wool mat?

PVC mats are durable and grip well, but they are neither biodegradable nor eco-friendly. Natural rubber mats are biodegradable and non-slip, but they come from the other side of the world (South-East Asia, South America). Our wool mat is made from a natural, renewable, French material. We only use a thin layer of latex to make it non-slip.

Can wool mats help with joint pain?

A thick yoga mat can cushion and ease your joints. Without compromising the stability you need in your practice, our wool mat is designed to support your knees and elbows. Larzac wool — from Lacaune sheep — has a particular springiness that is well recognised in the bedding industry.

How do I clean my wool mat?

Like a wool jumper, wool cleans itself when you let it air out. As a rule, air your mat as often as you can to let the wool breathe. Regular care extends the life of the mat. Vacuum whenever needed to remove dust.
